Skill Tidy is a manual maintenance skill for reorganizing and validating an Agent Skill directory to meet the Agent Skills specification and remain portable across different agents. Use it when you need to create, tidy, consolidate, rewrite, or validate a skill repo. Key features: inventory of existing files; validation of SKILL.md presence and frontmatter (name, description, directory-name match); clear enforcement of SKILL.md boundaries (only frontmatter, immediate activation guidance, navigation, and acceptance checks remain); relocation of long examples, deterministic logic, and static outputs into references/, scripts/, or assets/; pruning of environment- or client-specific assumptions; and a minimal-file policy. Benefits include improved cross-agent compatibility, predictable loading behavior, easier automated checks, and reduced maintenance churn. Non-goals: implementing business logic, adding platform-specific UI rules, or inventing dependencies.
