Ecosystem Canon Hermes Sentinel is the secret execution boundary of the VERITAS & Sovereign Ecosystem (Omega Universe). It does not manage secrets in the traditional sense — it eliminates the need for secrets to be seen at all. Where a conventional vault stores and retrieves plaintext credentials, Hermes Sentinel interposes itself between the agent and the credential, executing the operation on the agent's behalf through sealed capability adapters. The model requests an action. The system resolves the credential internally, executes, and returns only the filtered result. The decrypted secret value exists transiently inside the MCP server process — it is never returned in tool responses, written to logs, or placed in any buffer the model can observe. In the Omega Universe, Hermes Sentinel is the trust membrane: the point where agent intent is translated into authenticated execution without exposing the authentication material. SYSTEM INVARIANT: Hermes Sentinel does not give AI access to secrets. Hermes Sentinel gives AI access to capabilities that require secrets — without the secrets themselves ever appearing in tool responses, model context, clipboard, logs, or any IPC channel observable outside the MCP server process.
